Age 3
Drew my first cartoon entitled, “Rabbit with its ears tied together.”
Age 11
Two boys in my 6th grade class became popular for drawing a cartoon strip. I wanted to see what the big deal was, so one afternoon in math class I asked to take a look in their spiral notebook. Well, I didn’t think their exploding robots were very funny. And I wasn't that impressed with their stick figures. But nonetheless, something in me clicked. That was the day I went home and started drawing cartoons about my own life. Topics included: Oreo cookies and unfair TV regulations.
Age 14
Started drawing my first official cartoon series called, “Sisters”. The story lines were mostly about fights with my younger sister and my quest for a boyfriend. The comics were syndicated on my mother’s refrigerator.
Age 20
A series of “Sisters” cartoons are redrawn and published in my college newspaper.
Since then (age is just a number)
“Sederisms”, the Passover cartoons, have been published around the world, including South Africa, London, and the U.S.
New Yorker cartoon editor Bob Mankoff recently informed me that my characters were not moody or depressed enough to be in his magazine. I took this as a compliment. Then he asked me how I got in the building.
