Bio

Born and raised in New York, I’ve always been an artist.

My mom and I used to write and illustrate stories together before I could spell. My dad had his own photography studio in the fashion district and I would spend weekends in the darkroom learning how to dodge the light of the enlarger.

I got my BFA at Alfred University when the Internet was just catching on. I remember the very first time I opened a web browser: I typed the word, “Art” into Yahoo.

Today I work as designer and teacher and I love inspiring creativity in kids. My photographs and cartoons have been published in magazines and newspapers. When I planned my wedding, my biggest dream (aside from marrying my husband) was to design the invitations myself. I’ve developed fun projects around cupcake decorating, and produced a popular website that featured my own grandmother, Bubby, as an advice columnist.

When I was a kid, my mom asked me what I wanted to do when I grew up. My answer then was the same as it is today.

I told her, “I want to make beautiful things.”
